Youth Tournament Application Procedure and Rules & Regulations
Teams, Clubs and Districts affiliated with the BCSA desiring to host, organize or sponsor a youth soccer tournament must first receive approval from the district in which they are members using the designated form "Tournament Application".
After approval of the district is obtained, the sponsoring team or club shall then submit the form to the BCSA office for approval. A tournament application must be received at the BCSA office a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of the event. A service fee of $20.00 must accompany the application when it is forwarded to the provincial office.
Entry into approved tournaments shall be limited to teams who are properly affiliated with their Provincial, State or National Association. Teams participating from outside the province must have written approval from their respective governing body to participate. It is the obligation of the tournament hosts to ensure that all teams are properly affiliated with their governing body.
Only properly registered players in good standing with their respective soccer organizations are permitted to take part in any BCSA sanctioned tournaments. Teams participating in an approved invitational tournament who desire to use a player registered with another team must obtain written permission form the team the player is presently registered with.
Only those referees registered with the BCSA, its member districts, or the BC Soccer Referees' Association shall be appointed to officiate in any BCSA endorsed event (including invitational tournaments).
The Sponsoring organization is responsible for dealing with disciplinary matters, which may arise. However, disciplinary procedures must be in accordance with BCSA guidelines. Incidents of severe misconduct should be reported (in writing) to the BCSA for review by the Provincial Discipline Committee. Once the tournament is approved, insurance coverage is automatically applied by the BCSA under the same terms and conditions that apply in League and Cup Play.
The BC Soccer Association or any of its directors shall not be held responsible for any financial losses incurred by the sponsoring team, club or district, or for financial losses incurred by any individual connected with the tournament organizing group.
It is the present policy of the Provincial Board of Directors that any member organization wishing sanction for a tournament at the mini-soccer level must conform to BCSA Mini-Soccer Regulations with respect to tournament rules and regulations-particularly that play is limited to a maximum of six-a-side.
